Salman Khan summoned by Maharashtra State Commission for Womenover ‘raped woman’ remark

The Maharashtra State Commission for Women issued summons for Bollywood actor Salman Khan over his ‘rape’ remark during a promotion for his latest movie Sultan. The actor was asked to appear before the commission on June 29 at 2 pm.

Khan, in a recent interview, said that he “felt like a raped woman” during Sultan’s shooting, drawing criticism from fans and women activists alike. The National Commission for Women (NCW) demanded an apology and an explanation from the Bollywood superstar within seven days.

NCW chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam said that the actor would be summoned before the commission if his explanation was found to be unsatisfactory.
