RECOMMENDATION TO UK GOVERNMENT TO ENACT SUITABLE LEGISLATION TO THOSE FOUND GUILTY OF RAPING GIRLS BELOW 15

Uttarakhand High Court on Friday recommended state government to enact a suitable legislation in 3 months for awarding death sentence to those who found guilty of raping girls of age 15 years or below. The recommendation came in a decision passed by a bench of J. Rajiv Sharma & J. Alok Singh. The division bench in instant appeal which was instituted against judgment and order dated 05.04.2017 and 06.04.2017 confirmed award of death sentence to convict Karandeep Sharma. The bench also took note on increasing crime of such nature in state of Uttarakhand.
