Delhi Govt set to launch doorstep delivery scheme on Sept 10

The state government has claimed that no Delhiite would have to stand in queues for the services listed under the scheme. The project aims to provide doorstep delivery of public services like issuance of caste certificate, marriage registration, birth and death certificate. They also include the issuance of driving licenses, transfer of ownership of vehicles, old age pension, and new water and sewer connections. Other services related to ration cards; domicile, duplicate RC and change of address in RC will also be covered under the scheme.

Any person who is planning to apply for a new Driving License (DL) or Transfer Registration Certificate (RC) in Delhi can now get these services at home. People won’t have to go anywhere now rather Transport Department will come to them at their residence. The host would receive services under the Doorstep Delivery Scheme through Mobile Sahayaks. The Mobile Sahayak will be equipped with all necessary machines such as biometric devices and a camera.
People will be assisted to fill the online application form for DL and RC services and it will be similar to approach a help desk at Regional Transport Offices (RTO).

Delhi govt. will start Doorstep Delivery Scheme and is finalizing plans to start with DL and RCs. Assistants will fix an appointment for driving test & these services would be available at just Rs. 50. Govt. is consistently making every possible effort to start Doorstep Delivery as soon as possible. This would reduce congestion and chaos at RTO office and will save time and money of Delhiites.

This is “home delivery of governance”, which is being done for the first time in the country, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed while announcing the Cabinet’s decision.
To sum up, it is really an appreciable step and should come in the stage of execution timely. Moreover, it may also help in reducing the chance of fraud appliances. But at the same time, need for a transparent and clean body of transport department who will come to applicant’s doorstep.
