Two minors and an Indian Army soldier injured: Pakistan Ceasefire Violation
On 4th Feb., 2018; Two minors and an Indian Army soldier were injured when Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district. Around 11am, Pakistani troops opened unprovoked and indiscriminate fire, targeting forward Indian posts and residential areas along the LoC in Shahpur sector, to which the Army retaliated. Two civilians — Yasir Arif (6) and Gulnaz Akhtar (16) — and an Army jawan, Kishore Kumar Munna of the 278 Field Regiment, were injured in the crossfire and hospitalised. In Poonch’s Balakote sector, Pakistan resorted to cross-border firing in the afternoon. Intermittent firing continued in both the sectors till last reports came in.
