INBA’s Successful Educational Tour To Europe From June 2- June 13, 2019

Indian National Bar Association successfully organized the Educational tour to Europe -2019 under the guidance of Mr. Kaviraj Singh, Secretary General, INBA. The programme aimed at providing the law students with an opportunity to interact with foreign judges, advocates, academicians, research scholars and carry out research projects under their expert guidance.  The applications were received for more than 300 Delegates from across the country who were then subjected to screening test and interviews by the selection committee headed by Ms Vinakshi Kadan, Senior Advisor of INBA.

The Committee selected 10 Delegates who demonstrated the best researching, communication and analytical skills. The tour was organized during 2nd June 2019 to 13th June 2019. The tour included visits to 3 countries which were – Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The tour was successfully led by Mr. Per Oberg, the representative of Nordic region, INBA and Mr. Puneet Kumar Arya, Chairperson, Student Section, INBA.

In total, 17 programs were scheduled for this tour which included visits and seminars at Stockholm University, Swedish Bar Association, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Stockholm Arbitration Institute, Prosecutor office, Police station, Åland Chamber of Commerce, ÅlandLagtinget – Parliament, MannheimerSwartling law firm, Magnusson Law Firm, Cocktail reception hosted by Cirio Law firm, etc.

The delegation was also blessed with the kind presence of Hon’ble Justice Sangita Dhingra, Delhi High Court who delivered an insightful presentation at the seminar organised at the Manheimer Swartling Law firm, Stockholm where the deliberation over “Swedish Legal system” and the “Indian Legal System” occurred.

After the successful events in Sweden, the delegation travelled to Finland via Luxury Cruise for 12 hours and enjoyed the serene and beautiful views as the cruise crossed various islands. The delegation also got the opportunity to deliver a presentation at the Ministry of Food and Environment Denmark, where they discussed the environmental challenges in India and the way forward.We discussed the “Scheme of the Danish Water sector” and analysed what measures could be adopted for improving the quality of drinking water in India.

The law students gothands-on experience in gaining knowledge of International law, the legal framework of Europe, their culture, industry and economic dynamics. The tour encompassed not only the educational activities but also included the leisure activities like visit to the Old town -Stockholm, Gamla Stan, Mall of Scandanavia (second largest mall in the Nordic countries with 224 stores), Lida Forestand included in the tour which  gave the opportunity to the delegates to explore the culture of the places we visited and meet new people which was very refreshing. 

After the massive success and favourable response of Europe Tour of 2019, Indian National Bar Association is organizing another tour to USA in 2020.
