Petition against ‘Blue Whale Challenge’

On Wednesday a petition against the online game ‘Blue Whale challenge’ was filed before Delhi HC. The game is recently alleged to be linked with deaths of several children. Adv. Gurmeet Singh the petitioner asked for immediate directions to restrain internet majors from uploading any material pertaining to the deadly game. Mr. Singh also seeks for direction to Delhi police to appoint a special team to oversee whether the internet companies comply with court direction.
“There are so many children and people being adversely affected by this menace namely ‘Blue Whale challenge’ and they do not even know that the same will cost their life and their families will suffer heavily. All citizens of India will be benefited if the said menace is stopped’ Petition said. Petition also reveals that death of teenagers playing this game was reported from other countries also which includes Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile and Italy.
Adv. Gurmmet Singh sought immediate directions from the bench comprising of Acting CJ. Gita Mittal. and Justice J.C. Hari Shankar to restrain majors from uploading any material pertaining to deadly game.
